The city of Palo Alto is home to a thriving vibrant community. There are aspects of the area to suit every taste, from community volunteering opportunities to sports and recreation. Please have a look at some of the various organizations that you can support and/or become a part of.

HandsOn Bay Area (HOBA)
HandsOn Bay Area (HOBA) creates opportunities for people to volunteer, learn and lead in their communities. We strive to provide volunteers with a high-quality experience that fuels further action, and we envision a day when everyone is inspired and equipped to be the change they wish to see in the world.

YMCA of Silicon Valley
The YMCA of Silicon Valley is the new YMCA nonprofit membership organization formed from the union of the YMCA of Santa Clara Valley and the YMCA of the Mid-Peninsula effective January 1, 2009.
The YMCA of Silicon Valley is committed to enriching kids, adults, families and the community through health, fitness and wellness programs, youth programs, camps, family programs, swimming, and a variety of activities for people of all ages, incomes and abilities. Anyone can join. The YMCA values and embraces the diversity of all people in the community.

Palo Alto Golf and Country Club
Set amongst the beauty of 128 acres of rolling hills and nestled next to the protected open space of the Arastradero Preserve, Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club offers incomparable Bay Area vistas. This welcoming and distinctive private club provides challenging golf and year-round recreation and social activities for everyone, creating memories for a lifetime for members, their families and their guests.

The Parents Club of Palo Alto and Menlo Park
An organization that aims to enrich the lives of families with young children, both within the club and the community. The Club is made up of a diverse group of parents who have come together to form a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that provides education, support, social activities and structures to network and learn from each other.

Philantropic Ventures Foundation
PVF has a long history of helping to foster partnerships to address critical needs in East Palo Alto, and has initiated many creative programs that have a positive impact on the lives of low-income youth and families in East Palo Alto.

Palo Alto Council of PTAs Sports Leagues
Sporting and outdoor activites for Palo Alto's youth. From rowing to rugby, find a sport that your boy or girl would love. enrolling children in one of the many activities offered is a great way for them to learn about cooperation and teamwork while getting exersise and spending time outdoors.
